ENGLISH UNIT PLAN A10
The following link is a unit plan that I created for an English A10 course that focuses on identity, social action, social responsibility, and critically responding. The final project has the students composing and creating their very own spoken word piece that must be performed live, or on video.
It incorporates examples of spoken word from gender, racial, cultural points of view including First Nation and Metis. Here are some of my favorite examples:
ENGLISH UNIT PLAN Grade 9
The following link is to a Multi thematic unit plan created for a Grade 9 curriculum that encompasses the theme of our evolving identities as people. This unit was planned with a partner as well. It incorporates different genres of writing for different levels of learners as well.
It incorporates a novel, short story, non-fiction, rapid read (HILL), graphic novel, children’s literature, poetry and song. Some titles include:
